Reebok RBK 7K Pump Skate Review

Reebok RBK 7K Pump Hockey Skate

The Reebok RBK 7K Pump Skate is a cool looking black & white skate at half the price of the Reebok 11K.

Avaialble in the standard black trim, or white trim (pictured to the right) The RBK 7K Pump has most of the same features of the RBK 11K.

The pump was redesigned this year so it doesn't stick out as far and locks your heel down more securely. It's a nice feel with the 7 ounce felt tongue.

The RBK 7K Pump Skate has the lace lock that allows you to lock of the laces at the ankle, then lace your upper ankle independently from the lower part of your foot. The lace bite guard in the center of the tongue is a nice feature as well.

The 10" steel blade has small sections of the blade removed to decrease the weight and add more flex in the blade which makes it easier to skate faster.

  1. The demonstrator is incorrect in saying the blade is a 10" blade. The length of the blade varies depending on the size of skate purchased. What the demonstrator should have said is that the blade has a 10' radius. What this means is, imagine the blade being cut from a 10' ring of steel. Thus the blade has a 10' radius. This means that the blade is relatively flat with little curve. When you place the blade on a flat surface you can see how much blade actually touches the surface. A 10' radius blade has more contact on the ice and allows for greater speed. Some manufacturers use a 9' radius and thus the blade has more curve with less blade in contact on the ice, allowing for more agility. When buying a favourite pair of skates, keep in mind that you can always change the blade and holder. As well you can have the blades contoured or profiled. This procedure changes the shape and radius of the blade based on what position you play as well as any personal preference.

  2. Got one pair and return it back after 4 months. They wear out too fast.

My old skate was RBK 5K and the quality was much better than these 7K.
